Reflection- parking lots

One day in past week me and my mum decided to hang out and maybe go to some restaurant in center of  Warsaw. We packed to a car and went there, but we had problem to park car. All the parkings were full and we were wandering around in hope to find a free spot to leave safely car.
Why is parking in center of Warsaw so difficult? It might be connected with time when streets of center of Warsaw were made. At that time not a lot of citizens had cars to move around so the parking lots and free space weren’t needed at the time. No one then thought that in the future there will be so many people using vehicles and changing now the structure of area would be too expensive and difficult for goverment.

  1. This brings us back to the question discussed in class: who are cities for? Drivers or pedestrians? If we cover the city with parking lots, there will hardly be room for anything else, like parks, fountans, cycling trails, outside cafes, etc.
